The car repair shop that doesn’t like customers (0)

Here we go again, time for another rant!
If you are a reader of this blog you probably know my car, it’s old ,there is always something that needs to be fixed and i totally love it.
Anyways, there is this one gearbox mounting bracket that is completely broken and really needs to be replaced. I’d usually do this myself or with the help of my stepdad but this bracket is hard to replace without a welder and a nut splitter tool and especially impossible without some kind of lifting platform. Of course i don’t have any of that (yet).
So because this car repair shop – Schaller Leonberg – was recommended to me by my stepdad and since we get 10% off of the labor costs involved, i thought i’d consult them about the whole problem and have them fix it.
Friday morning i got up at 8am, turned in my car to get it fixed and went home. Nicely enough one of their employees drove me home.
Two or three hours later they called me, appearantly they weren’t able to buy the gearbox bracket because it was not available. I told them that i was at several spare part dealers and other workshops several weeks earlier, trying to get prices for that spare part and all of them had it available.
Anyways, they told me to pick up my car because they were not able to fix it without the bracket and so i did. Upon arrival i nicely told them that i’d try to get the bracket and come back.
The employee then told me told me that they wouldn’t service my car anymore because they don’t need customers that go from workshop to workshop, always only looking for the cheapest price to get their car fixed.
Needless to say i was really confused about this whole situation.
Of course i go to other workshops and spare part dealers if i need something, because i’m not a rich guy and need to save money too, but i always thought that this was one of the best and most reliable workshops in our town, especially because my stepdad was a longtime statisfied customer at their place.
So i left and went to a Fiat store to order the bracket, and of course they had it on stock, so either it was a misunderstanding on their side or just a cheap excuse not to fix my car because they only want customers that dedicate themselves to one workshop FOREVER.
So yeah, i don’t hate them for doing this, i mean this is supposedly a free country and people are supposedly able to do whatever the hell they want, so if they don’t want customers, it’s their choice. I’d just love to know the real reason behind all this, because i honestly don’t quite understand this.
